We'll start with the basics.
At Mee Mee, we aim to provide the most professional eye health check for our patients. We will take you through a typical eye check to assess the condition of your eyes and its refractive degree, using state-of-the-art equipment in the hands of an experienced optometrist.

Let’s determine your visual acuity.
Using rows of letters with varying sizes, we are able to determine the visual acuity of your eyes. Visual acuity testing will determine how clear your vision can be. Low visual acuity is typically caused by refractive error, or errors in the way light travels into the eyes.

We’ll now determine your refractive error.
By altering the power of built-in lenses in the phoroptor, we will perform a series of tests to determine your correct prescription. There are a few components to every prescription – your spherical power (myopia or hyperopia), astigmatism and reading addition power if required.
Point of Interest 1
Corneal topography is a non-invasive way to map the surface curve of your cornea.
Point of Interest 2
It can also be used in planning for cataract surgery.
Point of Interest 3
The cornea, which forms the outer surface of the eye, is responsible for about 70% of refractive error.
4 / 5
We'll now map the curve of your cornea.
With the use of a corneal topographer, we can map the curve of your cornea to determine the health of your cornea. It can be used to diagnose a wide range of eye diseases, and assessing the right fit for contact lenses.
Point of Interest 1
The patient looks up close to the tonometer, which will blow a puff of air into the eye before using a special sensor to detect the indentation that the puff of air causes in the eye.
Point of Interest 2
Tonometry is risk free and painless.
5 / 5
Let's test the pressure of your eyes.
By measuring the fluid pressure of the eyes, using a tonometer, we can detect the presence of glaucoma, which is a common eye problem that faces many people.
